UPDATES: NEW BOOKING PLATFORM IS LIVE!

Hey everyone! It’s been a little while since the last batch of news/updates, but here are the recent changes that will go in effect starting March 1st, 2022:
The booking platform for appointments will change immediately, shifting away from Facebook/Meta to a new website driven booking platform here. Hopefully this change will eliminate a few snags I have run into since requiring them - mainly the vast majority of customers who cannot access Facebook to book said appointments.
A new requirement for all upcoming appointments will be a declaration of the quantity of items being brought in for repair. The recent increase in work at the shop has been partially due to individual customers bringing many more than one instrument for their appointments. While I do welcome multiple instruments at one time, I must be aware of the quantities being brought in ahead of time (think of how auto mechanics require this information as well).
Strings will no longer be included in the price of setups. Over the course of the past year or so, the sheer increase in the price of raw materials has become a burden that I can no longer incur. Along with strings, the cost of all materials used and installed on customer instruments will be itemized and applied to the invoiced total.
Along these same lines, all digital monetary transactions will include an added 3% surcharge. Similar to the increase in cost of materials, the increase in fees charged to merchants has been nothing less than astronomical. While I did use the surcharge policy in the past and eventually waived this fee in recent history, the current pulse of the merchant service industry has made it necessary to reinstate effective immediately. Cash transactions will not incur this surcharge.
The good news is that the labor charges are not expected to change in the near future, so all services will remain at the same prices posted on the shop’s services pages.
I know this is all a bit much to take in at one time, but here’s the abbreviated takeaway:
Appointments will be booked using this website’s proprietary booking page only.
All appointments must include a declaration of quantity of instruments to be repaired.
Strings and all parts will be itemized and invoiced along with repairs (strings no longer included in setup pricing)
All digital transactions (including credit cards, PayPal, Venmo, etc) will be subject to a 3% surcharge (cash transactions will no incur this surcharge).
Labor charges will not increase at this time
Thanks, and as always, we’ll see with your next repair at the shop soon!
